BNV : য়োযাশ মাত্র 740 বছর জেরুশালেমে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন| তাঁর মা সিবিযা ছিলেন বের্-শেবা শহরের বাসিন্দা|
KJV : Joash [was] seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also [was] Zibiah of Beer-sheba.
YLT : A son of seven years [is] Joash in his reigning, and forty years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Zibiah of Beer-Sheba.

KJV : And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

ERVEN : Joash called the priests and the Levites together. He said to them, "Go out to the towns of Judah and gather the money all the Israelites pay every year. Use that money to rebuild your God's Temple. Hurry and do this." But the Levites didn't hurry.

BNV : তখন রাজা য়োযাশ প্রধান যাজক যিহোয়াদাকে ডেকে বললেন, “আপনি কেন লেবীয়দের যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের লোকদের কাছ থেকে কর সংগ্রহ করতে আদেশ দেন নি যা প্রভুর দাস মোশি ও ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা পবিত্র তাঁবুর জন্যই ব্যবহার করতেন|”

ERVEN : So King Joash called Jehoiada the leading priest. The king said, "Jehoiada, why haven't you made the Levites bring in the tax money from Judah and Jerusalem? Moses the Lord's servant and the Israelites used that tax money for the Tent of the Agreement. "

BNV : এরপর লেবীয়রা যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের লোকদের প্রভুর জন্য কর দেবার কথা ঘোষণা করেন| ঈশ্বরের জন্য ইস্রায়েলীয়রা যখন মরুভূমিতে দিন কাটাচ্ছিল তখন এইভাবে মোশি এই কর সংগ্রহ করেছিলেন|

ERVEN : Then the Levites made an announcement in Judah and Jerusalem. They told the people to bring in the tax money for the Lord. That tax money is what Moses the servant of God had required the Israelites to give while they were in the desert.

BNV : সমস্ত নেতা ও লোকরা খুশি মনে করে নিয়ে এসে প্রণামীর সিন্দুকে জমা দিল| সিন্দুকটা যতক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত না ভরে গেল ততক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত সবাই সিন্দুকে অর্থ জমা করতে লাগলো|

BNV : সিন্দুকটা ভরে গেলে লেবীয়রা সেটা রাজকর্মচারীদের কাছে নিয়ে গেল| যখন রাজার সচিব ও প্রধান যাজকের সহকারী সিন্দুক খালি করে তার থেকে যাবতীয় অর্থ বের করে নিলেন, ওটা আবার ভরে যাওয়া পর্য়ন্ত একই জায়গায় ফেরত্‌ দেওয়া হয়েছিল| এইভাবে বেশ কিছু পরিমাণ অর্থ সংগ্রহ হয়েছিল|
KJV : Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that [there was] much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.

ERVEN : Then the Levites would take the box to the king's officials. They saw that the box was full of money. The king's secretary and the leading priest's officer came and took the money out of the box. Then they took the box back to its place again. They did this often and gathered much money.

BNV : রাজা য়োযাশ ও যিহোয়াদা দুজনে এই অর্থ প্রভুর মন্দিরের তদারকির কাজ য়াঁরা করতেন তাদের দিলেন| তারা প্রভুর মন্দির সারানোর জন্য সুদক্ষ পাথরকাটিযে ও ছুতোর মিস্ত্রি ভাড়া করলেন| এছাড়াও লোহা ও পিতলের কাজ জানা কারিগরদেরও ভাড়া করা হয়েছিল|
KJV : And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.
YLT : And the king and Jehoiada give it unto the doers of the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, and they are hiring hewers and artificers to renew the house of Jehovah, and also -- to artificers in iron and brass to strengthen the house of Jehovah.

And the people who worked on the Lord's Temple hired skilled woodcarvers and carpenters to rebuild the Lord's Temple. They also hired workers who knew how to work with iron and bronze to rebuild the Lord's Temple.

BNV : যারা প্রভুর মন্দির তদারকির কাজ করতো তারা সকলেই নিষ্ঠাবান ও সত্‌ হওয়ায ঈশ্বরের মন্দির পুননির্মাণের কাজ সুচারুভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছিল এবং প্রভুর মন্দিরকে ঠিক আগের মতো ও আরো দৃঢ় করে বানানো হয়|

BNV : কাজটি শেষ হলে কর্মচারীরা অবশিষ্ট অর্থ রাজা য়োযাশ ও যাজক যিহোয়াদার কাছে ফিরিযে আনলো| এই অর্থ দিয়ে প্রভুর মন্দিরের জন্য বিভিন্ন জিনিসপত্র বানানো ছাড়াও, এই অর্থ প্রভুর মন্দিরের নিত্যসেবা ও হোমবলি নিবেদনের কাজে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল| এছাড়াও এই অবশিষ্ট অর্থ দিয়ে সোনা ও রূপোর পাত্র ও টুকিটাকি জিনিসপত্র বানানো হয়েছিল| যিহোয়াদার জীবদ্দশায় যাজকরা নিয়মিত প্রভুর মন্দিরে হোমবলি উত্সর্গ করতেন|

ERVEN : When the workers finished, they brought the money that was left to King Joash and Jehoiada. They used that money to make things for the Lord's Temple. These things were used for the service in the Temple and for offering burnt offerings. They also made bowls and other things from gold and silver. The priests offered burnt offerings in the Lord's Temple every day while Jehoiada was alive.

BNV : অবশেষে, যিহোয়াদা বৃদ্ধ হলেন এবং 130 বছর বয়সে তাঁর মৃত্যু হল|

ERVEN : The king and these leaders rejected the Temple of the Lord God. Their ancestors followed the Lord God. They worshiped the Asherah poles and other idols. God was angry with the people of Judah and Jerusalem because the king and those leaders were guilty.
